Description

Soft, chewy Matcha Latte Cookies made with earthy matcha powder and sweet white chocolate chips. A beautiful and flavorful twist on a classic cookie that’s perfect for tea lovers.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp matcha powder (culinary grade)

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

3/4 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Sift in the matcha powder, flour, baking soda, and salt, and mix until a dough forms.
  5. Fold in the white chocolate chips evenly.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized scoops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are set.
  8. Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra crunch, add chopped pistachios or macadamia nuts.

Use ceremonial grade matcha for a brighter green and stronger flavor.

Swap white chocolate for dark chocolate for a less sweet version.

Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top after baking for added texture.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days with a slice of bread to maintain softness.

Freeze dough balls or baked cookies for up to 2 months.
