1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
1 tablespoon grated parmesan (optional)
Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin until thin.
- Place about 2 tablespoons of mozzarella at one end of each slice and roll tightly.
- In a bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt.
- Brush each rollup with the garlic butter mixture, coating well, and place seam-side down on the tray.
- Optionally, sprinkle grated parmesan over the top.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm, optionally with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For variety, try using different cheeses like cheddar or pepper jack.
Add pepperoni or cooked bacon for a meatier version.
Swap parsley with basil or oregano for a herby twist.
Add chili flakes to the garlic butter for a spicy kick.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5–7 minutes for best texture.
Microwave reheating is not recommended as it makes them soggy.
